
Jagran Bureau, New Delhi. After Maha Kumbh, the Railway Ministry has started preparing for Holi. Initially, there is a plan to run more than 924 special trains on various busy routes of the country including the capital Delhi. The number of trains can also be increased if the number of passengers increases.
For the return of passengers returning home, the Railways will continue to run special trains as per the need till a week after Holi. Last time, the Railways ran a total of 604 special trains during Holi. According to this, this time more than one and a half times more trains are being run.
Northern Railway will run 276 special trains
The maximum number of 276 trains will be run by Northern Railway. This zone has the highest pressure of train passengers. It includes a large area of states like Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab and Himachal Pradesh.
Western Railway will run 234 trains
According to the railways, the second largest zone is Western Railway, in which 234 trains will be run. This zone includes big cities of Gujarat and Maharashtra, from where the number of people coming home for Holi is high.
Central Railway will run 76 trains
Similarly, a total of 76 trains will be run from Central Railway. 72 trains will run from Eastern Railway. The railways are planning to run 81 trains from North-East zone and 56 trains from Northeast Railway. All trains will run till March 13, a day before Holi, but if needed, the operation of trains can continue further for the return of passengers.


Number of people going to UP, Bihar is high
Although the railways believe that during Holi, the number of people coming from outside to Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Jharkhand from various cities is high, but those returning to work after Holi are not that impatient.
Rabi harvesting and wedding season
During this time, Rabi harvesting and wedding season also occurs. Therefore, the return journey continues for the next one month. In view of the crowd, the railways have also decided to increase the number of bogies in almost all trains.

This was also being done during Maha Kumbh. A train can have a maximum of 24 bogies. In view of the crowd of passengers, the railways increases the number of bogies to the maximum.
